Alla scoperta di Villa Lagarina
Villa Lagarina, located just north of Rovereto, is a charming art town in the heart of Trentino’s Adige Valley. Its historic center is full of elegant noble palaces and marble fountains, including the unique and iconic “Watermelon Fountain”.
Don’t miss the Church of Santa Maria dell’Assunta, one of the finest Baroque monuments in Trentino, and Palazzo Libera, home to a branch of the Tridentine Diocesan Museum, which hosts fascinating temporary exhibitions.
Among other noble buildings in the old town are Palazzo Guerrieri-Gonzaga, with its beautiful historic park, Palazzo Camelli, Palazzo Madernini, and Palazzo Marzani. In Piazzo, you can visit the historic Marzani spinning mill, and in Pedersano, the Church of San Lazzaro.
With prior arrangement, it’s possible to visit the Castello di Castellano, a medieval castle surrounded by nature.
Just a short distance away is the romantic Lake Cei, nestled in lush beech and conifer woods—perfect for a peaceful walk, a relaxing afternoon, or a mountain bike tour.
Villa Lagarina also offers a rich calendar of events, from the “Castelfolk” summer concerts, to the Watermelon Festival, and the “Gourmet Walk” through forests, vineyards, and old rural farmhouses.
